This is your one stop blogging center for all things Gluten Free for the Budget Conscious.  And let’s face it – in this economy aren’t we all budget conscious, to varying degrees?

There is so very much more information out there these days on being gluten free than there was when I started this back in November 2004, but there is precious little about how to do it on a shoestring budget.  Back then, I would have happily paid a king’s ransom just give my kid a freaking cupcake.  I did, and it was from a mix and we ALL vomited from it, it was so atrocious.  Slowly my hopes, as well as my standards, began to rise again that we would all eat well, once again.

Here, I will teach you.  Together we will give our families this day their daily gluten free bread for about $1 per person per meal, and we will all feel pleasantly smug and self-satisfied.  Just like proper Americans.

      It was so nice to meet you, too. Let me know how the banana bread turns out. It’s not overly sweet, so if you prefer something more dessert-like, add some more sugar.
